Sage Medallion Oushak Rug

We have two kids and a golden retriever so I wanted something that looked refined but wouldn’t stress me out every second. The pattern hides crumbs and dog hair better than I expected. There was a little wool shedding the first week with vacuuming but nothing crazy for a real wool rug. The colors are softer in person and the faded effect gives it character instead of looking printed. Guests keep asking where it’s from.

I compare rugs for a living because my wife keeps renovating rooms and I usually hate spending on them. Most cheaper rugs look machine stamped once you get close. This one doesn’t. You can see the slight abrash and uneven tonal movement across the green background, especially near the borders. The pile is low enough that chairs move easily but still soft underfoot. The carved detailing around the corner motifs is subtle but gives depth when light hits from the side. We put it in a study with walnut furniture and it tied the whole room together immediately.

I spent weeks looking at oushak rugs and most of them look so cheap in person. This one is completely different. The pattern and colors look so authentic and it blends perfectly into the space. It’s not super fluffy which is exactly what I wanted. 10/10

I was nervous ordering this online because muted green rugs can sometimes look flat or fake in photos. This one surprised me honestly. The wool texture has that soft matte look instead of the shiny synthetic finish most rugs have now. In daylight the field almost shifts between sage and dusty olive depending on the room. Mine had slight creases for about two days after unrolling but they settled quickly. Feels much more expensive than what we paid.
